Meet your Teacher

CG Yoga has been operating for over 15 years with Graeme Gemmell a Yoga Teacher with over 30 years of yoga practice and teaching experience. Graeme is passionate about teaching the Iyengar style of yoga and can adapt his teaching to allow students of all levels and physical ability to benefit from his classes. Graeme is a member of the Australian Inyengar Yoga Association.

Yoga practice works the entire physical body and a regular practice intergrates the connection with the body and the mind.

CG Yoga has been operating for over 15 years with Graeme Gemmell a Yoga Teacher with over 30 years of yoga practice and teaching experience.  Graeme has practiced and worked as a Yoga Teacher privately and in a number of Iyengar Yoga schools over the years including the past 15 years at a local school in the Fairfield area.  Graeme is passionate about teaching the Iyengar style of yoga and can adapt his teaching to allow students of all levels and physical ability to benefit from his classes.   Graeme enjoys weaving in some philosophy and brings humor to everyday life challenges as part of his class interactions. He is very ‘hands on’ with demonstrating the poses and often joins in with the class for some of them.

Graeme comes from a background in martial arts in London where he practiced for 12 years before fate and luck placed him on his yoga path here in Australia.  Graeme suffered some health issues early on that resulted in a change of direction and has worked part time or full time as a Yoga teacher ever since in a variety of settings including, private classes in the student’s home, group classes in the workplace and as part of several Iyengar Yoga Schools.

In 1996 he started practicing Iyengar Yoga, over this time he has kept a regular committed practice.  Graeme completed a Diploma of Health and Yoga in 2004 and was accredited with his certification as an Iyengar Yoga teacher in 2010. He has always been drawn to Eastern Philosophies and has traveled and practiced in India at times over the years.  Graeme has a doubtless conviction to yoga and truly believes that through its practice one can gain great benefits mentally and physically.
